When we really started to establish ourself as a team in Buhurt, we set up our structure to host a yearly election for the leadership of the team for that fighting season. This helped prevent any one person from getting too burnt out and allowed everyone the opportunity to lead if they so wanted. Since it’s creation in 2019, the Dallas Mythics has had a line of truly extraordinary captains who each brought their own flair and uniqueness to the role, all shaping the Mythics into the team that they are today.
It is with great honor that I get to welcome a new name to that list.
For the 2024-2025 fighting season, the new Mythics Captain is our very own Kayla Scarponi!
Kayla joined our team about a year ago, after moving to Texas from Maine, where she was the captain of the Portland Reavers: Maine Armored Combat. In this past year she’s been absolutely an incredible teammate and I look forward to the new heights we can achieve under her leadership.
Everyone, please join me in welcoming Kayla as the new captain. I know she’s gonna kill it.
